How to enroll
Through the school. Students join their school's HOSA chapter and the chapter advisor affiliates them with Texas HOSA and registers them for conferences.
- Ask your school's health-science teacher or counselor who the HOSA advisor is
- Join the chapter and pay the $25 affiliation fee (state plus national) through the advisor
- Choose an event with the advisor before your area's Spring Leadership Conference registration deadline in January or early February
No chapter at your school? A teacher can request a new chapter through Texas HOSA.

HOSA is a school club for students interested in medicine, nursing, dentistry, biomedical science and other health careers. Members compete in knowledge tests, skill demonstrations (CPR, nursing assisting, medical math) and leadership events. Texas members compete at an area Spring Leadership Conference in February to qualify for the Texas HOSA State Leadership Conference in Irving, Mar 31–Apr 2, 2027. State winners go to the International Leadership Conference in Philadelphia, Jun 22–25, 2027. Students join through their school's chapter.

Your school has no HOSA chapter or health-science class. HOSA cannot be joined as an individual.

Step by step
- 1Ask whether your school has a HOSA chapter (many health-science teachers are advisors)
- 2Join early in the fall; Texas affiliation for high schoolers closes Nov 15, 2026 (Feb 1, 2027 for middle school)
- 3Pick an event with the advisor and study the official event guidelines
- 4Compete at your area Spring Leadership Conference in February to qualify for state
