How schools register ↗

In plain words

TMSCA (Texas Math and Science Coaches Association) runs a season of Saturday invitational meets across Texas in four events: Number Sense (80 mental-math questions in 10 minutes), Calculator Applications, General Mathematics and General Science. Middle school and high school compete in separate divisions, split by UIL school size (1A–6A). Schools host the meets; students enter through their school's coach. Middle schoolers who hit a qualifying score at a meet earn a place at the TMSCA Middle School State Championship. For 2026–27 the tentative calendar lists the High School State Meet on Mar 20, 2027 and the Middle School State Championship on Apr 17, 2027, both at UTSA in San Antonio, pending UTSA approval. TMSCA tests are also used as practice for UIL Number Sense, Calculator, Math and Science.

Great for

Kids who like speed math and want lots of chances to compete, not just one test a year

Less ideal if

Your school isn't a TMSCA member and no coach wants to take it on
